Marco Muñiz Mugica

Marco is the owner of La Mexicana, a proudly local restaurant and tortilla factory with two locations in Auckland and a growing presence via its food truck. Known for championing traditional Mexican techniques and flavours, La Mexicana is also a supplier of handmade tortillas, salsas, and corn chips. Marco previously founded Milford Beach Pizza, which he successfully operated and later sold. With a background in hospitality, digital marketing, and grassroots business leadership, Marco brings a strategic, community-driven mindset to his role as Chair of the GLBA Board. He is passionate about strengthening Grey Lynn’s unique business identity and supporting a more resilient, connected local economy.
