The Grey Lynn Farmers Market has stallholders from in and around Auckland selling spray-free and organic fruit and vegetables, freerange eggs, free rahnge and rare breed meats, organic bread, locall caught fish, juices and smoothies from organic and spray free veges, honey, ginger beer and syrup, cheeses, jams and chutneys from local fruit, fair trade organic coffee and many types of hot food from Argentina, India, Mexico and Turkey.
Our market is 100% community owned an operated as we are providing a local alternative and small-scale to the large supermarket chains. Our fresh produce comes from within 200km of the market. It is all spray-fee or organic, and all eggs and meat are free range.
We hold regular workshops and seminars on cooking, gardening, preserving, and other interesting topics like beer making and water harvesting.
We also have a community trading table where locals can bring their backyard produce and sell it to others through anhonesty box system.
We are currently working on waste minimisationwith the goal of becoming a zero waste market.
